About Churubusco, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Churubusco, Indiana is a small town found in Whitely County. Located near the Eel River, this community is only about 16 miles northwest of Fort Wayne. The town is often referred to as Busco, and the full name refers to a Spanish-Nahuatl term that translates as “the place of the hummingbirds.” Smith-Green Community Schools serves the community and includes an elementary school, middle school, and Churubusco High School.

Busco is home to a few interesting things to see and do. The Eel River Golf Course is a popular destination for golf lovers, while the Brookwood Golf Club and Riverbend Golf Course are located in nearby Fort Wayne. Turtle Days is the oldest festival in the state, and it is rooted in the lore of the Beast of Busco Oscar the Turtle – a giant snapping turtle thought to haunt nearby Fulk’s Lake. There are also many specialty shops located in the town limits, including Terrapin Antiques, The Watering Can Florist on the Square, and Waneta’s Live Bait and Tackle.

Varied weather conditions are common throughout the year in Churubusco. The summer months are hot, humid, and rainy. July and August are the hottest months of the year and feature average daily highs in the 80s. Most residents opt for central air conditioning at home to stay cool. In addition to improving indoor temperatures, central air conditioning systems lead to enhanced air quality by removing pollutants that circulate throughout a space.

During the winter months, residents will need a gas or electric furnace at home to stay safe. Daily highs average at around the freezing point during January, while nighttime lows will fall considerably. High-efficiency furnaces offer variable speed motors, which allow for uniform heating throughout a home. This improves comfort, and new filtration systems can provide healthier breathing air by removing dust, mold, allergens, and other impurities.
