About Auburn, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Auburn, Indiana is a city located in DeKalb County, and it also serves as the county seat. Founders John Badlam Howe and Wesley Park established this city along the Cedar Creek at the intersection of two trails, Coldwater Road and Goshen-Defiance Road. The community’s name came from “The Deserted Village” written by Oliver Goldsmith, and it has deep roots in the automotive industry. In fact, the official nickname is “Home of the Classics”, which references the classic vehicles that were once manufactured here.

There is no shortage of places to visit in Auburn. Many of the attractions here revolve on the automotive industry, including the Auburn Cord Dusenberg Automobile, the National Automotive and Truck Museum, and the Kruse Automotive & Carriage Museum. Other exhibits in the community include those found at the National Military History Center, and after a long day of visiting museums, many guests like to stop by Byler Lane Winery. There are also many delicious restaurants here, such as The Italian Grille and Bo Doogie’s BBQ.

Auburn residents can experience four markedly different seasons throughout the year. Hot and humid conditions are prominent during the summer months, as temperatures easily reach into the 80s. The season is also rainy and stormy, so it is important that residents have a safe place indoors. Central air conditioning can ensure temperatures stay cool when residents are forced inside during extreme conditions.

Weather conditions are dramatically different here during the winter months, at which time average daily highs only reach about 32 degrees Fahrenheit. The Auburn area receives about 33 inches of snow each year, so it is important that locals have the right climate controls at home. Many residents are investing in new gas or electric furnaces, as newer machines come with the latest technology. Homeowners can benefit from sound-absorbing materials and gas valve advances, providing quiet and consistent heat from room to room.
