About Woodburn, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Allen County, Indiana, Woodburn is one of the smallest cities in the state. In fact, with only about 1,600 residents as of 2017, it is Indiana’s second smallest city after Cannelton. This community was originally platted in 1865 and was referred to as Phelps Station at the time. The fertile soil, nearby river, and abundant timber attracted new residents to the area, and agriculture continued as a major economic staple in the region.

There are multiple things to see and do in Woodburn despite the city’s small size. Many locals enjoy spending a Friday night at 101 Bowl, while the Pond-A-River Golf Course is better suited for a warm spring afternoon. Many events are held at American Legion Post 377, and area restaurants include Bob’s Family Restaurant, Pat & Larry’s Bar & Grill, and Sam & Carters. Retail destinations include the Apple Barn, Milan Center Feed & Grain, and Woodburn Liquors, and residents who want to spend some time outdoors should visit Blue Cast Springs.

Woodburn weather varies throughout the year, leading to very distinct seasonal conditions. Summers here are wet, hot, and humid. July is the hottest month of the year, and average daily highs reach about 84 degrees Fahrenheit. Stormy weather is also common, and severe storms frequent the area during the spring and summer months. Central air conditioning keeps residents cool throughout the season while removing humidity from indoor air.

Winters in Woodburn are typically cold with moderate snowfall. Average high temperatures in January are only about 32 degrees Fahrenheit, while average lows fall into the teens. Residents will need a gas or electric furnace in order to stay comfortable throughout the season, and high-efficiency models are a great investment. A high-efficiency furnace features a built-in system to remove moisture inside a heat exchanger, and they also offer economical on-off cycling programs. These features allow them to last longer than other heating systems as long as they are properly maintained.
